using online images
When searching for photos from online resources, most students (and adults) just find an image using Google or Yahoo images and then make a copy. Google, Yahoo, and other similar sites are SEARCH ENGINES to help you locate info on the internet. The photos on those sites have not been approved for copy by the original source and may be copyrighted. Therefore, using one of their images is similar to stealing. Just because it's on the internet and you CAN copy it, doesn't mean you should.
The list below contains sites offering photos that already have approval for use. Click and search any of these resources for class projects. Under the Fair Use for Education ruling, if you are using photos for educational purposes, it's possible to copy the item if you ALWAYS credit the source of the original work (not the search engine), and are not altering the image.
